Orchid Pots
Orchid pots are an important part of home orchid cultivation.
Which pot you choose, the medium, watering, location and fertilization
all work together toward successful home cultivation. It does make a
difference and varies by species so do some research before going to
buy.
When shopping for orchid pots, the two main types available will be
either plastic or terracotta. Each has its advantage and disadvantages.
For example a plastic pot might not be the best choice for a plant that
is located outside – it could easily be blown over in a wind.
Clear, plastic pots are becoming popular because they allow sunlight
to easily reach the root system.
In terracotta orchid pots, the medium tends to dry out faster. This
is ideal for some tree-dwelling succulent varieties – the pot
guarantees the medium will never become waterlogged. Within the two
main types there are a whole host of patterns and designs available.
There are many styles. colors and sizes to match your outdoor
patio furniture.
